Description
Typical tasks:
- Analyze existing insurance processes and identify digitalization potentials
- Gather and document business requirements together with business units
- Create solution concepts for digital transformation (including process modeling and cost-benefit analyses)
- Mediate between business and IT: translate requirements into technical designs and support implementation
- Support project management in planning and rolling out new digital solutions (agile methods like Scrum/Kanban)
Relevant tools & technologies: BPMN modeling tools (e.g. Visio, Signavio), requirements management (Jira, Confluence), knowledge of common insurance IT systems, MS Office
KPIs & metrics: compliance with project milestones and budgets, reduction of process lead times, increase in customer satisfaction/user adoption, reduction of manual efforts through automation
Challenges: alignment of diverse stakeholders in the insurance environment (business units, IT, regulatory), integration of new digital solutions into existing legacy systems, handling regulatory requirements and data protection, change management and user acceptance
Deliverables: comprehensive requirement documents and process models, developed business concepts and user stories for IT implementation, defined implementation roadmap, training materials for updated processes
Lessons learned: early involvement of all stakeholders eases the implementation of digitalization projects; iterative, agile approaches allow flexible adjustments; deep industry knowledge (products, regulation) is essential to design sustainable digital solutions
Requirements
- Several years of experience as a business analyst or consultant in digitalization projects, ideally in the insurance industry
- Deep understanding of insurance processes and products (e.g. claims management, policy administration)
- Experience in capturing and documenting requirements as well as business process modeling (BPMN)
- Knowledge of agile methods (Scrum, Kanban) and basic project management skills
- Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to successfully bridge business and IT requirements
