Head of Automation and AI Transformation (m/f/d)

A company is looking for an experienced leader to drive automation and AI transformation. The goal is to analyze and optimize end-to-end processes across different business areas such as sales, procurement, order management and logistics. The focus is on identifying optimization opportunities, especially in areas with media breaks and manual tasks, and creating a prioritized transformation roadmap with clear business cases and implementation recommendations.

The role includes managing automation initiatives such as ERP optimization, RPA and low-code/no-code solutions, evaluating and introducing relevant AI use cases, and building fundamental AI skills within the organization. Leading internal project teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement are also key tasks. Close collaboration with IT and external implementation partners is expected, reporting to senior management.

• Analyze and optimize end-to-end processes in sales, procurement, order management and logistics
• Identify optimization opportunities in existing processes
• Create a transformation roadmap with business cases and implementation recommendations
• Manage automation initiatives (ERP optimization, RPA, low-code/no-code)
• Evaluate and introduce relevant AI use cases
• Build basic AI skills within the organization
• Lead internal project teams and promote a culture of improvement
• Collaborate with IT and external implementation partners, reporting to senior management

• 5–8 years of professional experience, including leadership responsibility in process optimization, digitalization or transformation
• Consulting background (top-tier, boutique, or in-house) with strong methodological focus
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, MS Dynamics, or similar)
• Practical experience in process automation (RPA, APIs, workflows)
• Solid skills in project management methods and business cases
• Hands-on mentality and clear result orientation
• Fluent German and English skills
