A company in the automotive sector is looking for an experienced expert in Snow Software components to carry out a release upgrade. The Snow Software components (License Manager, Inventory Server, Integration Manager) are used for managing software licenses and inventory. The goal of the project is to ensure the security, stability, and functionality of the systems by updating to the latest version. Insights from the last similar update should be included in the planning.
The role includes planning, execution, and follow-up of the release upgrade, including creating a migration plan, coordinating with stakeholders, executing functional tests, and documenting all activities.
Key responsibilities:
- Developing a migration plan for the test and production environments
- Identifying and documenting all necessary steps, resources, and dependencies
- Coordinating downtime windows with relevant stakeholders
- Performing the updates during the agreed downtime
- Ensuring an error-free installation of the new versions
- Conducting functional tests and error analysis
- Documenting all activities and preparing a final report
- Handover to operations including lessons learned
Requirements
- Proven experience with Snow Software components (License Manager, Inventory Server, Integration Manager)
- Experience with release upgrades in production IT environments
- Ability to structure documentation and communicate with stakeholders
- Understanding of technical dependencies and their impact on ongoing operations
