A leading B2B company in the German-speaking region, part of a larger corporate group with established brands in professional information, software, and education, is seeking external expertise to analyze and develop its marketing organization. The company operates a business unit with over 500 employees, including approximately 60 in marketing, and aims to modernize its B2B digital marketing structure.
The project focuses on providing a structured external perspective on the current marketing organization, roles, and strategic alignment. The goal is to reflect on the current setup and explore potential target models for a modern B2B digital marketing organization.
- Analyze the current marketing organization and its workflows.
- Benchmark the structure against best practices in modern B2B marketing organizations.
- Develop potential target models for roles, competencies, and responsibilities.
- Identify key areas for improvement and provide strategic recommendations.
- Support prioritization of organizational and strategic changes.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including the management board and marketing leadership.
Requirements
Extensive experience in strategy or transformation projects within B2B marketing.
Proven expertise in organizing modern digital B2B marketing units.
Project experience in at least one of the following areas:
B2B marketing organization and operating models.
B2B marketing performance and attribution.
Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders (management board, marketing leadership).
Experience in analyzing existing organizations and deriving pragmatic target models.
Experience in content-driven business models or platforms.
Background in B2B software, SaaS, or knowledge/information products.
Familiarity with current developments in AI, search, and content distribution.
Expertise in designing marketing interfaces with product organizations.
