BI Expert for CM Calculation (m/f/d)

A company is looking for an experienced BI expert to take on the complete design and implementation of a BI stack for a multi-level contribution margin accounting. The data source is the Abas ERP system, and the task includes data extraction, transformation, and the reporting frontend. Tool decisions will be made in close coordination with project management and the company.

The project's goal is to develop an automated solution for calculating and presenting contribution margins (CMI–IV) based on variable and fixed cost blocks, as well as cost center/cost object logic. The solution should be updatable on a regular basis without manual intervention and include comprehensive documentation and knowledge transfer to internal users.

• Analysis of the Abas data structure (tables, fields, export options via API, ODBC, or Abas native interfaces)
• Definition and documentation of technical requirements together with controlling, IT, and project management
• Selection, justification, and setup of the appropriate BI tool stack (ETL, data model, reporting)
• Development of a multi-level contribution margin accounting (CMI–IV) according to the existing concept
• Mapping of variable and fixed cost blocks including cost center/cost object logic from Abas in different perspectives and hierarchy levels
• Implementation of automated, regular data update routines without manual intervention
• Documentation of the overall solution and knowledge transfer to internal users

• Proven experience with BI tools and ETL processes
• Knowledge of data extraction and analysis from ERP systems, ideally Abas
• Experience in developing contribution margin accounting and cost logic
• Ability to independently design and implement technical solutions
• Fluent German skills; English skills are a plus
• Strong communication and team skills for coordination with various stakeholders
