Description
A company is looking for an experienced BI expert to take over the full design and implementation of a BI stack for a multi-level contribution margin calculation. The data source is the Abas ERP system, and the task includes data extraction, transformation, and the reporting front end. Tool decisions will be made in close coordination with the project lead and the company.
The goal of the project is to develop an automated solution for calculating and displaying contribution margins (CMI-IV) based on variable and fixed cost blocks as well as a cost center/cost object logic. The solution should be able to be updated regularly without manual intervention and should include comprehensive documentation and knowledge transfer to internal users.
- Analysis of the Abas data structure (tables, fields, export options via API, ODBC, or Abas-specific interfaces)
- Definition and documentation of the technical requirements together with Controlling, IT, and project management
- Selection, justification, and setup of the suitable BI tool stack (ETL, data model, reporting)
- Development of a multi-level contribution margin calculation (CMI-IV) based on the existing concept
- Mapping of variable and fixed cost blocks incl. cost center/cost object logic from Abas in different perspectives and hierarchy levels
- Setup of automated, regular data refresh logic without manual intervention
- Documentation of the overall solution and knowledge transfer to internal users
Requirements
- Solid experience with BI tools and ETL processes
- Knowledge of data extraction and analysis from ERP systems, ideally Abas
- Experience in developing contribution margin calculations and cost logic
- Ability to independently design and implement technical solutions
- Very good German skills, English skills are a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team for coordination with different stakeholders
