Description

The services of the contractor (service provider) are provided as part of the maintenance and further development of a custom time management system and in a preliminary project phase for the “modernization” of this legacy system.

The aim of this modernization is to decouple from the currently used IBM-native technologies and replace Cobol program parts. To do this, the existing software must be split into defined modules and then, according to an agreed roadmap, migrated to a market-standard database environment (Oracle) and a modern operating platform within the enterprise cloud (AWS).

The revision of existing time management processes takes place as part of the modernization with the goals of efficiency improvement, user friendliness and payroll control, with direct involvement of the business units.

In parallel with these project activities, stable daily operation and the implementation of legal and collective bargaining requirements must be ensured in the established maintenance and development environment.

For this hybrid role between project work and daily operation, external consulting services with deep expert knowledge in time management and in maintaining and enhancing complex legacy systems as custom developments within the client’s complex collective bargaining environment are needed.

  • Conceptualization and modeling for transferring existing system functions and program flows into modern architectures and software components.
  • Developing evaluation criteria and assessing different technical solution variants and architectural principles.
  • Advising and evaluating solution approaches in the area of time management and payroll.
  • Defining and controlling all relevant system processes and core workflows for stable daily operations, in parallel to necessary modifications of the existing legacy system and its connected interfaces and external systems.
  • Ensuring that planned changes and extensions can meet the business requirements within the software.
  • Preparing and documenting according to established methods in the DB IT environment or standard guidelines.
  • Advising on ensuring that key DB IT security and data protection topics are met in daily operations and in the project.
  • Creating deliverables through commissioned service providers
  • Integrating new and existing interface partners
  • Preparing suitable training materials

Requirements

  • Several years of experience (>5 years) consulting on the selection and implementation of HR IT systems for time management
  • Several years of experience (>5 years) in workforce planning (focus is on time management)
  • Proven knowledge (>2 years) of leading providers of IT systems for time management and workforce planning in the German market (focus is on time management)
  • Participation in a project in the last 2 years for selecting and/or implementing an IT solution with at least one leading provider in a complex client environment
  • Expert knowledge (>5 years) in modeling complex collective agreements, company agreements and legal regulations within HR IT systems
  • Solid best-practice experience (>3 years) in time management process modeling
  • Project experience in customizing and implementing complex front-end systems
  • Proven experience (>2 years) migrating software from on-premises setups to cloud environments (e.g. AWS)
