Senior/Lead Engineer (Freelance/Contract) (m/f/d)

A company is investing in refining its agentic toolbox and building a platform to run autonomous engineering tasks at scale. The initial focus is on software delivery, with plans to expand into other roles beyond engineering. The vision is to enable humans to steer while agents deliver.

The project involves greenfield work, integrating into existing internal systems and processes. Many tech stack decisions are yet to be made, with AWS being a given and a Java/React stack highly likely.

The role requires assembling a team of strong, forward-thinking engineers to build out this vision. Candidates should be comfortable jumping between tech stacks and energized by the idea of building a platform that changes how software gets delivered. They should be able to own significant pieces end-to-end and maintain a tight feedback loop with (future) users to shape the platform. As the solution is rolled out, candidates will act as advocates, coaches, and consultants to help teams with adoption.

• Build and refine a platform for autonomous engineering tasks at scale.

• Maintain a tight feedback loop with users to shape the platform.
• Advocate, coach, and consult teams for adoption of the solution.

• Proven experience as a Senior/Lead Engineer.
• Ability to work across multiple tech stacks.
• Strong fundamentals and curiosity.
• Experience with workflow engines, agent frameworks, or cloud-native orchestration (bonus).
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a senior team.
• Remote-friendly, EU timezone preferred.
