Two years before the project started, the customer introduced agile ways of working in its DevOps department with moderate success. As part of my assignment, I drive the transition to a working agile operating model (Agile@Athlon) that moves away from supposed dogmas and fits the requirements of a highly regulated environment (BaFin) and legacy systems that are several decades old.

Wirtschaftsbetriebe Duisburg (WBD) is moving its IT department to agile ways of working. As part of this, a pilot project was started to identify the hurdles for agile work in WBD’s quasi-governmental environment.
The applications currently used for geographic information systems are to be extended to include offline operation, in addition to the option of pure online operation with mainly server-side information processing. To achieve this, extensions to infrastructure, the application, GIS data, and workflows in the organization must be implemented and examined iteratively.

Trainer for Scrum and Kanban
Since March 2023, I have been working as a trainer for Scrum and Kanban, combining my own passion for agile methods and sharing knowledge. I offer both open trainings and in-house trainings.
My Scrum trainings are based on Scrum.org certifications and prepare participants for PSM I, PSM II, PSPO I, PSPO II, and SPS. My focus is on creating a deeper understanding of the motivation behind using Scrum.
My Kanban trainings are officially accredited trainings by the Kanban University. I currently teach Team Kanban Practitioner, Kanban System Design, and Kanban Systems Improvement.

The customer built and released Germany’s largest streaming platform in a 300-person environment scaled with SAFe. As part of this, I led the transition of the infrastructure/DevOps team from Scrum to Kanban, as well as the increase in maturity to level 3 of the Kanban Maturity Model.
As part of the company’s OKR cycles, I facilitated my team’s OKR sessions, which mainly consisted of laddering. In addition, I worked as a Kanban consultant for other members of the RTL+ Agile department and, among other things, conducted trainings and coaching sessions at solution level.
