Description
- Review of Customs declarations, regarding key customs compliance areas, e.g., the declared HTS codes, declared dutiable value, country of origin, IGCR compliance, etc.
- Review of export documents and benefits claimed on exported goods under different schemes – RoDTEP, Drawback and Advance Authorization
- Review of Customs duty rates and notification benefits claims / applicable, including but not limited to FTA benefits
- Review of SVB Order / IR and other Valuation compliances
- Review of Import / Export data and highlight discrepancies and gaps as compared to data declared through BoEs
- Review of periodical reports shared by Broker(s)
- Assess and quantify the major customs exposure and opportunities / efficiency, for the period under review, according to the above review and analysis (if such data / information is available)
- Discuss and understand the current transaction models as well as customs daily management process with relevant stakeholders to be able to to provide high-level suggestions to improve the current customs management
Requirements
- Understanding of current customs procedures, processes and modules, including communication with relevant stakeholders
- Experience in reviewing customs declarations, particularly correct classification of goods (HS codes), calculation of dutiable value, and compliance with customs regulations (e.g., IGCR)
- Knowledge of export documentation and customs benefits under schemes like RoDTEP, Drawback, and Advance Authorization
- Experience with customs duties and the application of benefits from Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and other customs benefits and notifications
- Experience in reviewing SVB orders and compliance with valuation requirements
- Ability to analyze import/export data and identify discrepancies compared to declared values (BoEs)
- Experience handling periodic reports from customs brokers and analyzing them for compliance
- Ability to assess and quantify customs risks and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements
