SETUP AND MENTORING OF A SCRUM MASTER COMMUNITY

Initial situation: Building a Community of Practice with eight Scrum Masters, ranging from beginners to experienced professionals. Challenges: promoting team building within the CoP, establishing a culture of learning from and with each other, and creating broader exchange within the company.
My role: Professional and disciplinary support for the Community of Practice as well as mentor for the individual members.
My contribution:
Ongoing support of the CoP through regular expert input, one-on-one meetings, and needs-based mentoring.
Support for individual team members in personal mentoring sessions to strengthen their role and develop their skills further.
Design and introduction of a standard annual review format
REDESIGN AND SUCCESSFUL INTRODUCTION OF A STANDARD ANNUAL REVIEW FORMAT
Initial situation: After the company discontinued the “Performance Dialog,” different and inconsistent forms of annual reviews developed within the department. There was no aligned approach or common line among the managers.
My role: Design and introduction of a standard annual review format for all employees in the department.
My contribution: Development of a new concept for annual reviews, including a pilot phase, training for fellow managers, and early involvement of employees in the network. Creation of explanatory videos about the method and process to promote transparency and acceptance. Evaluation of the introduced annual reviews based on the past two years with an approval rate of 90 percent.
Design and facilitation of the vision workshop
VISION WORKSHOP ON THE PRODUCT VISION USING DESIGN THINKING METHODS
Industry: Ticketing, software sector
Initial situation: Two cross-functional teams with software developers, software architects, product managers, and UX specialists were looking for direction for the product vision for the next two to three years.
My role: Design and facilitation of the two-day vision workshop.
My contribution: Development of an engaging, practical workshop concept with Design Thinking methods in close coordination with the Product Owner. Facilitation of both days with a group of 15 people. Ensuring that the goals were achieved through structured process support and the creation of suitable working materials.
Mentor and facilitator of the Community of Practice
SUPPORT OF A LESS SCRUM MASTER COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE
Industry: Software development
Initial situation: Newly formed Community of Practice with six Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches, all with a maximum of two years of experience in this role. Challenges: team building within the CoP, introducing a new Less framework into the teams, and professional growth with still limited experience.
My role: Mentor and facilitator of the Community of Practice as well as the individuals.
My contribution: Continuous support, advice, and mentoring through regular expert input and one-on-one meetings. Design and facilitation of a two-day workshop to sharpen the understanding of the Scrum Master role and responsibilities within the company. Strengthening team building and mutual trust within the group.
Organizational Development Specialist and Agile Coach
BUILDING AND SCALING AN AGILE IT NETWORK WITH NEW DOMAIN TEAMS
Industry: Software development
Starting situation: A network of 30 experts worked on different IT topics for Haufe Akademie internal customers. Planning took place every two months by management. After that, employees chose the relevant topics and work packages in planning according to their strengths and areas for development. The goal was to build and expand the network to more than 70 employees.
My role: Organizational Development Specialist and Agile Coach.
My contribution:
Iterative design of the transition from a “swarming” approach to ten agile domain teams working along content-focused areas.
Design and facilitation of team-building workshops, as well as professional support in recruiting 24 new colleagues in the roles of Software Engineer, Product Owner, and Scrum Master.
Support for managers in developing employees as part of personnel development.

INTRODUCING LESS IN SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
Industry: Software development ticketing
Starting situation: Decision to introduce LeSS as the scaling framework for the entire software development area with around 130 employees, divided into four content-focused areas. The implementation was in the hands of a few Scrum Masters with little experience.
My role: Sparring partner and mentor for the Scrum Masters in the individual areas.
My contribution: Analysis of the starting situation through team and one-on-one talks in all areas. Joint design and facilitation of area kick-off workshops to introduce the framework. Ongoing support through professional advice and mentoring of Product Owners and Scrum Masters over a period of six months.
