Description
A highly experienced Senior Expert in Supplier & Vendor Relationship Management is required to support a large-scale initiative in the Urban Development / Real Estate / Construction sector. The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing frameworks, governance structures, and tools to manage and enhance supplier and vendor relationships across critical procurement categories.
Tasks
Governance & Framework Design: Develop a scalable VRM governance model with clearly defined roles, accountabilities, and decision rights; establish policies, SOPs, and controls to standardize vendor relationship management processes
Supplier Management & Evaluation: Conduct supplier research, segmentation, and risk assessments across key procurement categories; support onboarding, qualification, and registration, including data validation and compliance checks; design performance evaluation methods and supplier action plans
Templates & Tools: Develop and provide best practice templates (e.g., Supplier Registration, RFP Quality Checklist, Market Engagement Playbook, Conflict of Interest templates) and identify required system enhancements
Requirements
- Extensive experience in Urban Development / Real Estate / Construction industries, especially in procurement categories such as Civil & Structural Works, Building Envelope, MEP, Interior Works & Finishes, Infrastructure & Utilities, Temporary Works & Site Logistics
- Proven track record in designing and implementing Supplier / Vendor Relationship Management frameworks, including governance, processes, and systems
- Strong expertise in procurement / supplier / vendor management: qualification, onboarding / offboarding, risk assessment, blacklisting, and data quality controls
- Experience in developing vendor/supplier management tools, templates, and checklists (e.g., RFP quality checklist, market engagement playbook, emergency procurement governance)
- Strong knowledge of vendor segmentation, performance evaluation, supplier collaboration, and action planning
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Oracle procurement and supplier management modules
- Knowledge of Local Content Management
- Work experience in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar)
