The second project was the transition of SaaS tendering software, purchased by the business unit, into the operations of the CHG IT department. Libri GmbH
- Libri GmbH is a logistics service provider in the wholesale book trade, with a logistics center in Bad Hersfeld and headquarters in Hamburg. To support its independent booksellers, Libri provides them with a B2B eCommerce shop platform. My tasks at Libri GmbH were to - - support the existing platform in operation, periodically review security and ensure it - - act as an interface between the software vendor of the shop solution and the provider / data center operator. The entire platform was operated as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Support above the application level was handled by Libri internal employees. In addition to operating the existing system landscape, it was my job to coordinate the migration to a new, fully revised shop version. As part of this upgrade, the internal communication of the entire software was adjusted. As a result, all servers operated at the provider had to be rebuilt and adapted to the new architecture. I was responsible for the technical coordination. Due to the necessary migration of the databases, all shop sites also had to be migrated. I ensured responsibility for the phase-based planning of the migration of the shops in live operation. In addition to the tasks described above and change, release, patch, problem, and configuration management, it was also my responsibility to ensure the documentation of the entire system landscape and to drive concepts for its further development. At the same time as the new system landscape was being built, first ideas were already being developed on how the new software version could be operated in a Docker environment. A first POC had already been carried out for this.
