Business Controller (m/w/d)

A producing SME is looking for an experienced Business Controller to optimize finance and controlling processes and support strategic decisions. The goal of the project is to ensure a seamless planning and control cycle, analyze and improve production and plant controlling processes, and build effective KPI reporting.

The Business Controller will work closely with production management to analyze manufacturing costs, material consumption, and efficiency indicators. In addition, they will take over finance and liquidity management, including cash flow monitoring and invoice auditing. Another focus is on further developing BI tools and dashboards as well as optimizing existing Excel models and data structures.

• Ensure a seamless planning and control cycle (budget, forecast, monthly closings) including reliable monthly figures and booking corrections.
• Production and plant controlling: analyze manufacturing costs, work-in-progress (WIP), material consumption, and efficiency indicators; work closely with production management.
• Finance and liquidity management including cash flow monitoring, open item overview, and review and approval of relevant invoices.
• Build and further develop KPI reporting (e.g. BI tools), create transparent dashboards, and optimize existing Excel models and data structures.
• Management reporting for operational and strategic decisions, identify necessary organizational changes and cost efficiency measures – including preparing scenarios for staffing measures or structural adjustments.
• Experience in controlling, ideally in a manufacturing company.
• Knowledge of production and plant controlling as well as finance and liquidity management.
• Expertise in using and developing BI tools and dashboards.
• Ability to optimize Excel models and data structures.
• Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking.
• Fluent German skills; English skills are an advantage.
