Summary
Dr. Alyosh Agarwal has had a focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ ML) technologies and enterprise solutions for most of his professional career. This included a variety of Al applications at Mercedes-Benz and Telefonica, as well as Machine Learning and Big Data research at Huawei. Since 2023 the focus was expanded to GenAl, with a specialization in OpenAl ChatGPT and Google solutions including Gemini 1.5 and Vertex Al. Previously, Alyosh completed his Ph.D. and Master thesis with a focus on Al systems.
Alyosh is a U.S. citizen who completed his Business Master's degree and Doctorate (DBA) summa cum laude in Germany. His academic background includes digital transformation, business strategy, financial analysis and control, as well as business intelligence and enterprise systems.
Alyosh held positions as COO and Managing Director of an enterprise software development group and was responsible for 60+ developers and system architects in Germany and the United States. He has extensive experience working with financial services, manufacturing, telecom and pharmaceutical companies.
In his last position, Alyosh was Financial Program Controller for Digital Transformation at KION Group AG (€11 bn revenue) from March 2022 to April 2024. He was the sole financial professional responsible for control of this program with an annual volume of €80+ m in 2023 and over €100 m in 2024. This included financial planning, rolling forecast, actuals, KPIs/ dashboard, risk management, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, as well as C-level and Board presentations regarding both financial and project management aspects. Alyosh's industrial experience includes Al enterprise solutions, Cloud and SAAS development projects at Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Tenneco Inc (auto parts), Telefonica and Huawei European Big Data Research. He has extensive experience with end-to-end manufacturing processes, for example managing SAP and platform customization across 17 global process teams at KION Group in Germany, as well as at business units across EMEA, USA and China.
Till 2019, Alyosh also had a part-time professorship at a University of Applied Sciences in Munich. He taught Bachelor and Master classes in Digital Transformation, Finance, Accounting, Business Intelligence and Management. He is familiar with recent academic theory and models; as well as Master-level research, which he supervised over 8 years. Based on his work, he was awarded a life-time professor title as defined within German law.
