Summary
Mid-sized companies usually fall into one of two stages when they look at the topic of AI in their business:
A: They have not started with AI yet. Reasons may include a lack of knowledge or staff, fears, or the assumption that there is no need.
B: They have started with AI, but are not making the progress they want. There are issues such as unused licenses, shadow AI, or questions about strategy and the AI Act. Solutions? Not really.
The problem: AI tools are fun for individuals, and people are pleased with the results. Establishing AI in a company is a completely different matter. Everyone now realizes the impact of introducing AI on the company as a whole, the organization, its people, collaboration, processes, and much more.
When we talk about AI, we are not just talking about technical solutions or the next software installation. It is about a comprehensive transformation.
That is why it does not matter whether a company has already started or not. In the end, all companies will inevitably face questions about the foundation, from strategy and processes to legal issues and change management.
You need to understand this area of tension in order to manage it effectively.
Why can I help? 35 years of experience in mid-sized companies as commercial manager, authorized signatory, budget director, and head of marketing. Plus expertise as an AI Manager and AI Compliance Manager (IHK), as well as AI Design Sprint® Facilitator.
My offer: I support companies with around 50 to 250 employees in becoming ready to start with AI within four weeks. If everyone gets on board. Completely pragmatic and hands-on. It does not matter whether the company is still inexperienced or is stuck at a certain point.
One way to approach it in concrete terms:
Assessment: We examine six dimensions (strategy, data, people, processes, legal issues, benefits). You identify the current state of the foundation in your company and what is missing.
Security: Introduce rules aligned with the EU AI Act using a traffic-light system. Green means “go ahead.” Yellow means “ask first.” Red means “don’t do it.” Plus a list of all AI tools with clear responsibilities.
Strategy: In the AI Design Sprint® the team develops a real everyday task that can be made easier with AI.
At the end, there are 6 important documents and the company is ready to start with AI.
Ideally, the technicians come in only after that.
