Ulrich Bach

I am an experienced finance and transformation expert with a solid background in banking and a diploma in business administration. After early roles in the financial sector, I took on leadership positions in well-known consulting firms. Today I lead complex transformation programs at the corporate level - especially in post-merger integrations, carve-outs and the sustainable integration of finance, IT and governance. I see finance not just as a reporting function, but as a central management tool and value driver at the C-level. A defining milestone in my career was co-founding the Sarbanes-Oxley Competence Center at the University of St. Gallen, which combines regulatory excellence with practical implementation. This experience has shaped my holistic view of finance governance, internal controls and compliance as integral parts of modern corporate management. My focus is on harmonizing and digitizing financial processes and on realizing economies of scale and synergies in global organizations. For several years I have been leading SAP S/4HANA Finance initiatives in large companies and driving the transformation of core finance functions - from accounting, controlling and consolidation to treasury & risk management - along the entire S/4HANA roadmap. My expertise in IT compliance and information security is based on international standards such as ISO 27001, DORA and ISAE. I help companies build robust ISMS structures and sustainably strengthen their digital resilience. As a leader in the DACH region, I stand for strategic thinking, clear communication and consistent execution - values that also shape my teaching at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University. There I promote practical exchange in the areas of finance, IT management, business ethics and fraud management.
