Rail Infrastructure
- Power BI shared datasets and reports via DirectQuery on Amazon Redshift (timetable, construction and capacity data)
- Automated report testing with Playwright in Docker containers, version control with GitLab
- Concept and implementation of user communication (information page, changelog, known bugs)
Initial Situation:
The integrated capacity management platform (InKa) is a monitoring and analysis platform for data from timetable and capacity management: customer orders, infrastructure, timetable operations, construction, as well as route capacity and width. The data is stored and linked in a structured data warehouse. This makes it possible to create complex KPIs across different source systems and display current and future route utilization as well as construction activity across the network. The goal is to improve strategic, medium-term and intra-year planning and provide users with easy access to capacity management analyses.
Measures:
- Enablement: Introduction of Power BI with training and workshops for development teams.
- Consulting & Design: Problem analysis, concepts and solution consulting for reporting requirements; implementation of reporting solution plans.
- Data Model: Development of shared datasets with DirectQuery on Amazon Redshift and import tables; DAX measures for utilization and capacity KPIs.

Managing Director & BI Architect
Proofnity GmbH
With Proofinity GmbH, I support companies and associations in building and further developing their Power BI environments. I take on project management and architecture and also work hands-on in implementation: from the data warehouse and data model to reports, governance and user training.
Product Development
From the projects, we developed our own framework with eight Power BI modules. This means that not every project has to start from scratch. Each module consists of a demo file (PBIX/PBIP), HTML documentation, C# scripts for Tabular Editor and a configuration. Examples:
- Security: all five levels (RLS, OLS, CLS, MLS, PLS) in one model, connected to Azure AD groups
- Time Intelligence: 29 patterns with Calculation Groups, 57 DAX measures and a calendar configurator as a C# script
- Requirements & Wireframing: questionnaires and mockups so that the business department and development have the same understanding before implementation
- Design Playbook and Documentation: consistent themes according to IBCS and automatically generated model documentation for handover
Training and Coaching I train development teams and key users and support customer teams through sparring on data models, DAX and report design. The modules and a resource line form the basis.
Business Development and Sales I developed Proofinity's positioning and service offering: diagnosis of existing reports, training, coaching and fixed-price projects. I conduct requirements workshops, prepare proposals and support customers beyond the project. I am also building a network of freelancers and partners with whom we develop ready-made solution templates for each ERP system and business area.
AI in Development and Operations I use Claude Code, Codex and GitHub Copilot for development, documentation and testing. I also automate internal processes, for example collecting and evaluating project tenders and creating drafts for applications. Technologies: Power BI (Desktop, Service, Report Server), DAX, Power Query, DirectQuery, Calculation Groups, RLS/OLS, Deployment Pipelines, Power Automate, SQL Seer, Amazon Redshift, Tabular Editor(C# scripts), DAX Studio, InfoRiver, Azure DevOps, Git/GitLab, Jira, Confluence, Playwright, Docker, Python, Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot
Methods: Scrum, SAFe, IBCS, Requirements Engineering

Senior Consultant
QUNIS GmbH
At QUNIS, I led and implemented BI projects for customers in industry and the non-profit sector, focusing on Microsoft SQL Server, SSAS and Cubeware. I gathered requirements with the business departments, prepared proposals and supported the projects through to go-live.
- Project management and proposals: I led projects from requirements gathering through architecture to handover and prepared the corresponding proposals, including effort estimates and project plans.
- SCHAEFER KALK, Industry (from 05/2020): As technical project manager, I led the team that built the BI solution for Sales and Finance. The solution was based on data from Navision. I aligned the OLAP model and the SQL logic for profit and loss and balance sheet reporting with the Navision account schemas. Since then, financial and sales reports have been generated automatically and provide a more reliable basis for decision-making.
- Political Foundation, Non-Profit (11/2018 – 12/2021): The Data Warehouse had become difficult to manage over the years due to changing consultants. As part of the team, I restructured it and changed it to Near-Time loading from the MACH and FAV2 accounting systems. Standard reports for Finance and Controlling were created in Cubeware, with budget values that can be written back directly. The data has been more up to date since then, and the DWH is maintainable again.
Technologies: SQL Server 2016, T-SQL, Stored Procedures, SSAS (OLAP), MDX, Visual Studio Data Tools, Cubeware Importer and Cockpit, Git

I completed my training in the IT department of Siegburg Municipal Administration. There I learned how networks, servers and workstations work together and how to quickly help users in their day-to-day work. I still use this foundation today when integrating BI solutions into existing IT environments and coordinating with IT departments.
- Network and servers: Setting up and supporting the network and Windows servers, managing users and permissions
- Workstations and support: Setting up PCs and software for administrative staff, user support for issues and questions
- Final project “Central Data Backup Concept for the Branch Offices of the Municipal Administration”: I recorded the current state of data backup and developed a target concept from it. I then set up a central backup server with a tape drive using Veritas Backup Exec. The Oracle database is backed up online via an agent without interrupting ongoing operations, and the file server is also connected. Full and differential backups run automatically according to a schedule. Retention periods and overwrite protection are managed through media sets. In the event of errors, the administrator receives an email. After the first backup runs, I checked the logs, explained the concept to employees and then took over responsibility for data backup.
