- Digital system made up of special software and hardware components. The overall system replaces the traditional process with routing slips and handwritten notes and enables more efficient order intake. Orders and work steps for the violin maker’s projects can now be recorded, edited, and logged in real time directly on the workshop’s touchscreen PC, via mobile phone, or on the desktop. Customers are thus brought more transparently into the work on their instruments and can track the status and progress of their instrument via their customer account.

- Challenge: The client (a craft business) wanted to sell its products through online shops. For strategic reasons, there should be different shops and domains for different (international) customer groups and subsidiary brands. In the client’s concept, there were also functionalities planned that are not covered by the standard scope of common shop systems. One goal was to keep the administrative and financial effort for the shops as low as possible. The design concept was provided by the client.
- Action: Consulting on choosing the right shop system, server and domain setup, installation and setup of the shop, setup of the multishops, layout implementation according to the client’s specifications. Development of several extensions (Shopware extensions) and special functionalities. Later migration from Shopware 6.6 to 6.7.
- Result: Despite a limited project budget, the client can now sell products through a multi-shop system and manage products and orders independently through a single back office. Thanks to the use of API interfaces, connection to invoicing systems, ERP systems, and payment service providers is possible.

Wimada 24 GmbH
- Challenge: For the end-customer portal of the network for solar installers, an easy-to-use digital advisor, online calculator, and comparison tool was needed. On the website, users should be able to quickly and easily estimate their energy needs, as well as the potential for cost and energy savings, and clearly compare the profitability of different individual, suitable scenarios. The tool should also serve as a funnel system to guide prospects from their initial research to a successful purchase and then to the fully installed system. The leads should be provided to the accredited solar installers in the network through the automated wimada24 system based on the prospect's region.
- Action: Defined the requirements, planned and architected the software, structured the processes, and prepared and modeled the data to create a stable and high-performance base for the calculator. Developed the user flow and layout. Programmed the tool and the required interfaces.
- Result: Through this tool, photovoltaic prospects could be successfully guided from their first visit on the online platform to their successfully installed photovoltaic system - in record time, with excellent customer service and satisfied customers.

- Challenge: The network provided the solar installers with special Bitrix24 instances, through which they could carry out their work comfortably via standardized, optimized, and automated processes. Solar installers have many complex steps to complete, from planning to the finished photovoltaic system, and must coordinate tradespeople from different fields, as well as handle official applications and requirements. These complex tasks had to be mapped in Bitrix24 workflows so that solar installers would have maximum visibility over their projects and could work efficiently.
- Action: Implemented the strategy plans of solar installer and photovoltaic specialists in Bitrix24 workflows.

- Challenge: Wimada24 GmbH still lacked real branding to position its product and services seriously and with enough visibility in its target markets.
- Action: Developed the branding, created the logo and the logos of the subsidiary companies. Created a detailed CI for a consistent presentation of the brand across all channels. Created presentation folders, flyers, and business cards. Revised the company website to match the new branding.

- Challenge: The new innovative possibilities of digitized direct sales processes also created the need for a tool for administrative staff that would allow sales staff to be supported via direct chats across teams. Problem solving and support should be possible even for new administrative employees through detailed, easy-to-understand action flows with automated solution suggestions for problem cases, enabling effective, confident support for sellers and team leads. In addition, some administrative tasks in direct sales were to be moved into the new system in order to enable more intuitive and efficient work than was possible with the existing complex enterprise software for direct sales.
- Action: Development of a Laravel application as a back office for the administrative staff of direct sales.
- Result: Through this system, direct sales received a tool that significantly improved the overview and working methods of the administrative staff, optimized communication with sellers and team leads, and enabled more efficient processes.

- Challenge: For the picker and packer line of the online shop (shop.karls.de), a way had to be found to increase efficiency in workflows by visualizing the processes through reliable data capture, in order to identify and use optimization potential for picking and packing, as well as for the arrangement of products in the warehouse. The solution should effectively support employees in their work.
- Solution: Development of stationary devices on which pickers and packers scan the EAN codes of their run sheets at strategically important locations/work steps. Based on the runtime data, together with product-related order data, process optimizations could then be carried out successfully.

- Challenge: The time tracking system originally used in the company had standard capture devices. Employees with extended licenses could also record their working and break times via a complicated app from the manufacturer. The license costs for the individual devices and app accounts were extremely high. However, the time tracking system also had an API interface that could be used at low cost.
- Solution: Custom low-cost time tracking terminals in the Karls-style look were developed and produced in small series. Employees received lower-cost employee cards with which they could record working hours efficiently and intuitively. The system also had features to minimize incorrect entries (such as duplicate bookings or wrong statuses). In addition, it could also effectively track times for employees who were used cross-over between the different systems of the agricultural areas and the experience village areas. For protection against faults and tampering attempts, the terminals also had offline functionality, among other things, and could be managed, controlled, and updated via a central device management system.

- Challenge: Karls regularly runs various prize draws with different game types; there are also online games as well as games on site. There are also both "ongoing prize draws" and prize draws over a fixed period of time. Some prize draws are initiated very spontaneously by management. There are different numbers and types of prizes, and there can be one or even several winners with different prizes.
- Core functions: various prize draw types (types scalable at any time), planning, creation, and management of the prizes, participant management, prize management, automated solution verification, automated winner selection, winner notification with delivery of electronic prizes (e.g. vouchers), overview of prize redemption, GDPR compliance, integration as a microservice and the overall system (usable on the web, in the app), prize draws were also run directly via QR code at local attractions (e.g. waiting area of the KK roller coaster in Elstal)

- Karls is a company with 1,000-5,000 employees (seasonal fluctuations and dynamic growth). To make it easier for recruiters to work effectively with job postings and manage the respective benefits, an additional headless CMS system was created and integrated into the microservice structure. This made it possible to publish the data across all Karls channels at the same time. In addition, HR employees received a "digital applicant card" and a digitized questionnaire that they could use directly in job interviews on their digital devices. All data and functions were synchronized with the in-house HR software via a REST API.

- In the experience villages, visitors should be able to use free Wi-Fi if they were already subscribers to the Karls newsletter or subscribed before logging in. To provide a stable, GDPR-compliant solution, various Cisco Meraki functions and the Karls microservice had to be linked and extended through a custom software solution to make the desired process possible. Depending on their status, customers were shown a dynamic splash page with the individual functions before actually logging into the Wi-Fi.

- Challenge: In direct sales, the group of sellers is very broad, from young, smartphone-savvy people doing this as a seasonal student job to seniors. In previous seasons, it was found that 24% of the sellers were unable to use apps on a smartphone. One important goal, however, was to integrate these employees into the automated digital processes as well. The solution: a fully automated phone bot, which allows these employees to submit their reports or conduct their interviews by phone without human hotline staff being tied up for these standard cases.
- Action: A suitable phone bot was developed using Lambda Connect and AWS Lambda, with REST API integration into the real-time cloud system.
- Result: This system enabled 98% of direct sales processes to be digitized. After real-time optimization and fine-tuning in live operation, the processes could be handled and managed confidently by 3 administrative employees in direct sales. In addition, operating an AWS Contact Center significantly reduced telephony costs.

- Initial situation: Karls is very complex and also has several "experience villages" as locations. For content editors, it became increasingly difficult to produce, track, and keep all content up to date. Classic CMS systems and Excel-based silo solutions at the locations and in the departments made reliable and smooth work increasingly impossible.
- Action: Migration of the editorial base, as well as some existing "silo solutions," to the headless system UniteCMS. Editors can now create and manage content instinctively, efficiently, and in a structured way. Duplicate data and content are no longer necessary. The content is automatically available and up to date across all channels (e.g. website, app, hotel TV)

- A system through which customers could book their brunch visits, children's birthday parties, and other events online. Karls has several locations, each with multiple bookable venues, and additional services could also be booked (such as menus, cakes, or drinks). Employees at the locations and hotline staff could manage, change, or create new bookings for their respective location. Daily up-to-date event checklists / function sheets and daily schedules for on-site employees were generated automatically. There were supervisor functions for the central event manager.

- Initial situation: At Karls, several advertising material distributors were employed, each of whom had to independently and responsibly cover larger areas with many different advertising partners. Their way of working was very individual and took place without any documentation.
- Project goal: As the company grew, the marketing department increasingly needed an overview of the advertising materials in circulation, the way the distributors worked, and the quality of their work. Efficient route planning for distribution tours as well as the management and “ordering” of advertising materials were to be included. Offline functionality was also important. Data protection compliance was naturally the highest priority in this project as well.
- Action: Planning, architecture, and implementation of an Android app solution with a REST API connection to Aktivmarketing software.

- Initial situation: Karls recognized the potential of fence advertising very early on. (Private) advertising partners were given the opportunity by Karls, in exchange for a fee, to attach advertising banners to fences on properties with good street exposure. Due to the high demand and number of banners, some of which were issued decentralised without proper documentation, a centralised, clear solution had to be created to automate the processes around issuing and renewing the banners. In addition, this software also needed to allow the marketing team to centrally plan and manage advertising materials and the routes of the advertising material distributors.
- Core functions: Online booking via Karls.de, process automation, status tracking (including authority applications), dynamic overview map of all banners and applications (Google Maps), validity and contract management (e.g. limited contract terms), planning of distribution tours, management of different advertising materials

- Initial situation: Karls is, among other things, the largest strawberry grower in Germany. The strawberries are sold exclusively directly to end customers in various regions of Germany. During the season, more than 500 mobile sales stands are placed at different locations, where about 2,000 seasonal employees work as sales staff in shifts. To ensure smooth and secure operations, 20-30 administrative staff had to call the sales staff 3 times a day and go through a protocol lasting about 5-10 minutes, while also giving the sales staff up-to-date instructions. A large part of the administrative staff was temporarily pulled in from other departments of the company for phone duty. The data was manually entered into a special Karls business software and processed there. On site, team leaders were also moving between the sales stands, responsible for smooth operations, full staffing of the stands, and supporting the sales staff.
- Project goal: Complete digitization and automation of the processes between sales, team leadership, and headquarters, minimizing transmission errors, reducing the hotline team in administration to a minimum, and simplifying and improving communication between sales staff, team leaders, and administrative employees.
- Core functions: App-based solution for real-time monitoring, reporting protocol queries, logistics control (replenishments), digital daily settlement, Safebag tracking, as well as HR self-services (viewing hours, material ordering) and integrated direct chat
- Challenge: Ensuring performance under peak load (up to 1,500 simultaneous users) and guaranteeing full offline capability at locations without an internet connection.
- Action: Planning, architecture, and implementation of a hybrid app solution (iOS & Android) with AWS API cloud connectivity and REST API interfaces to the business software. The app was continuously developed and improved from season to season and received new features every year.
- Result: The number of hotline employees could be reduced to a minimum, 76% digitized and automated communication (98% in connection with the “Direct Sales Phone Bot” project), significantly improved employee workflows, huge time savings through more efficient processes, and waiting times in queues are now only the exception
