Michael Krusche-Underwriter Major Accounts

In my current role as an underwriter in the public sector at Versicherungskammer Bayern, I'm responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and underwriting risks in commercial and public property insurance. My tasks include individual risk assessment, creating coverage concepts, and the technical and economic evaluation of new and existing contracts, especially for municipalities, municipal institutions, and public-sector clients.

I work closely with sales teams, brokers, and internal departments, providing expert support in the quotation process and contract drafting. I also guide risk policy decisions and apply my expertise to improve internal processes.

I pay special attention to digitizing and structuring risk assessment. In this context, I push for technical solutions that enable efficient, transparent, and standardized risk evaluations—a field I want to explore further.

In parallel, I'm completing a part-time program to become a technical underwriter for industrial property insurance to strengthen my professional expertise.

In this role, I was responsible for handling complex customer requests and served as the main point of contact for colleagues with technical questions. I was also deeply involved in testing and implementing the new policy administration system 'Faktor 10'. In this process, I coordinated technical tests, identified and documented sources of errors, and played a key role in the practical rollout of the system in the property and personal insurance area. I was able to apply my interface skills between the business department and IT.

Another focus of my work was training new employees: I developed training materials, conducted onboarding sessions, and supported new colleagues in their day-to-day work—both technically and methodically.
