The Munich location strategy for 1,200 workplaces after 2020 had to be developed quickly in order to generate options for action. My task of developing location options and the cost-benefit analysis formed the basis for the Executive Board’s decision in favor of one scenario. I also made a significant contribution to negotiating the contract and developing the technical specifications for two location options.
A significant reduction in Corporate Real Estate costs in Munich was to be achieved. Through my sub-project management in the project for the planned consolidation of locations, the introduction of desk sharing for 1500 people was achieved. I contributed to the successful implementation through cost-benefit analyses, project controlling, planning the necessary IT, coordinating the works agreement and conducting interviews with the Executive Board. I was also responsible for introducing booking software for 1200 workplaces.
I helped shape the development of a global Corporate Real Estate strategy for the Allianz Group in order to leverage unused potential across the entire owner-occupied portfolio (approx. 2,500 locations globally). Planning and implementing workshops involving local units worldwide led to the definition of key elements.
I helped prepare the Allianz Group Executive Board’s subsequent decision to carry out a global portfolio optimization of Corporate Real Estate. I helped shape the resulting development and roll-out of a country-based concept. I was responsible for planning and implementation in Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal and the USA. Overall, this achieved a reduction of 15 % across a portfolio of approx. 2.1 million m² of space (mainly office space).
To ensure that the Allianz Group’s strategy and interests were followed at owner-occupied locations and in owner-occupied space, I was responsible for approving, reviewing and supporting local real estate transactions worldwide. By supporting local management with my structured approach and a differentiated assessment of all influencing factors, I was able to successfully guide decision-making.
Owner-occupied buildings have a major influence on achieving the Allianz Group’s CO2 emissions reduction targets. I helped further develop the foundation and KPIs and worked out ambitious targets for further optimization. This resulted in parts of the Corporate Responsibility target framework for the Allianz Group through 2020.
