Multi-Agent R&D Pipeline (3 Custom Agents) at Independent Project
Claude Code subagents, MCP, Pydantic V2, pytest, bandit
Designed and shipped 3 specialized agents that hand work down a line: a research agent writes a cited implementation spec, a coding agent builds the modular code and its tests, a review agent ranks findings by severity and applies the fixes. Each handoff is a structured document, so no stage depends on another agent's context window.
Connected the research agent to an academic-research MCP server (Semantic Scholar, ArXiv, Hugging Face Hub, citation snowballing) so every reference traces to a tool result rather than the model. Gated commits behind ruff, mypy, pytest and bandit, required human sign-off before installs and commits, and persisted session state on disk so long runs survive a context reset.

Multi-Agent Document-Generation Platform
Problem:
Turn a single prompt into a well-researched, structured and cited document, while keeping the user in control: every stage can be reviewed, corrected or revisited before the system moves on.
Architecture:
A multi-agent system orchestrated by a central controller. More than 20 specialised pydantic-ai subagents (understanding, structuring, planning, research, writing, assembly, cross-reference check, glossary, citation, reference table and more) pass results forward through a shared plan persisted in Postgres (asyncpg); a runner layer dispatches each task by name to its agent, and mechanical steps such as formatting, table of contents and list of figures are deterministic code instead of LLM calls. Provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) is a configuration setting, and responses stream over Server-Sent Events.
Hosting & Infrastructure:
Stateless container run as a Scaleway Serverless Container on a private network with managed PostgreSQL, object storage for finished documents and assets, and centralized log shipping (Loki / Scaleway Cockpit), provisioned with OpenTofu modules and deployed through GitLab CI; usage is metered per API key.
My Contribution & Key Decisions:
- Central decision controller: a satisfaction classifier turns the user's free-text feedback into a verdict (keep working, advance, cancel or revise an earlier task), and a middleware applies it to the plan. Plan progression supports jumping back to earlier tasks and re-running the stages after them.
- Research and writing fan-out: planning produces a plan from which a research-design agent generates individual research tasks and a writing-design agent generates individual writing tasks, each linked to the research it needs. Every task runs in its own dedicated agent with its own conversation history.
- Self-review and human-in-the-loop: after each step a critical-thinking agent reviews the output; the user can accept, refine, or ask questions about a critique before the plan advances.
- MCP integrations: two remote MCP servers, web search and internal document search, connected through pydantic-ai with retries and long-running tool-call timeouts. Classifier agents decide per task whether web search is needed, and a small model condenses raw search results into structured findings before they reach the writing agents.
Usage Metering:
Clients authenticate with an API key validated against a key-management service; consumption is charged in credits calculated from token usage per model plus a markup, and exhausted quota is answered with HTTP 429.

About the technology
Managed Container Orchestration on Microsoft Azure
Azure Kubernetes Service simplifies deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications in the Microsoft cloud. It removes the operational overhead of maintaining control planes while integrating natively with core infrastructure services like virtual networks, load balancers, and shared storage.
Typical Cloud-Native Architectures
- High-traffic microservices architectures running enterprise workloads
- Event-driven stream processing with auto-scaling container instances
- Multi-tenant application platforms with strict namespace isolation
- Hybrid cloud topologies bridging on-premises systems and cloud nodes
Ecosystem and Infrastructure Tooling
Production deployments rely on tightly integrated ecosystem tools. Specialists configure Azure Container Registry for image storage, Azure Key Vault for credentials, and Azure Monitor Container Insights for telemetry. Infrastructure management leans on Terraform, Bicep, Helm charts, and GitOps engines like Flux or Argo CD.
Why Companies Bring in Specialized Talent
- Modernizing legacy monoliths into resilient container environments
- Hardening cluster security, network policies, and identity access
- Fixing runaway cloud compute costs and unoptimized pod resources
- Establishing continuous delivery pipelines with minimal deployment downtime
Network and Identity Foundation
Configuring managed clusters requires deep knowledge of enterprise networking and identity. Professionals set up Azure CNI or Kubenet routing, configure private endpoints, and isolate traffic via network security groups. Workload Identity ensures pods access cloud resources securely without static API credentials.
Hallmarks of Seasoned Cloud Professionals
Top specialists write modular infrastructure as code, design automated node-pool upgrades, and implement reliable disaster recovery routines. They set up pod disruption budgets and horizontal autoscalers, ensuring distributed services stay available under unexpected load spikes while keeping node utilization efficient.
Frequently asked questions
Everything clients usually want to know about Azure Kubernetes Service, in one place.
A specialist designs, provisions, and maintains production-ready clusters using Azure Kubernetes Service. They connect Kubernetes workloads to cloud networking, set up automated CI/CD pipelines, configure observability stacks, and ensure containerized applications run reliably without unexpected downtime.
With AKS, Microsoft manages the control plane nodes, handling upgrades, patching, and high availability at no extra charge. This allows external professionals to focus on application workloads, ingress controllers, pod scheduling, and storage configuration rather than maintaining low-level cluster control components.
Strong candidates for Azure Kubernetes Service projects bring expertise in Terraform or Bicep for infrastructure provisioning, Helm for chart packaging, and Docker for container builds. They also understand Azure Active Directory authentication, private DNS zones, and GitOps tools such as Argo CD.
Azure Container Apps abstracts infrastructure management for simple microservices without exposing the cluster API. In contrast, AKS gives teams full control over the underlying orchestration layer, supporting complex networking, custom operators, and specialized hardware requirements like GPU node pools.
Companies engage a freelancer when migrating on-premises applications to Azure Kubernetes Service, or when an existing setup suffers from stability, security, or latency problems. Freelance talent also helps set up baseline cluster blueprints before handing operations over to internal teams.
Evaluate their experience with production migrations, network plugin selection, and cost governance. A quality AKS specialist should clearly explain how they handle cluster upgrades, manage ingress traffic with tools like Application Gateway Ingress Controller, and enforce Azure Policy across environments.
Yes, nearly all Azure Kubernetes Service engineering can be handled entirely remotely using standard cloud management tools and automated deployment pipelines. Clear documentation, secure role-based access controls, and collaborative version control ensure seamless coordination with your internal team.
A baseline cluster deployment and pipeline setup using Azure Kubernetes Service often takes a few weeks for a focused specialist. Full enterprise modernization initiatives involving dozens of microservices, custom security controls, and multi-region failover typically span several months of iterative rollout.
The average hourly rate of freelancers who have used Azure Kubernetes Service in their recent projects is 98 €, which corresponds to a daily rate of about 782 € based on an 8-hour working day.
Of the freelancers who have used Azure Kubernetes Service in their recent projects, 88% hold at least a Bachelor's degree, 47% hold at least a Master's degree, and 8% hold a doctorate.
On average, freelancers who have used Azure Kubernetes Service in their recent projects have 19 years of professional experience, with a single engagement typically lasting around 1.8 years.
The most common languages among freelancers who have used Azure Kubernetes Service in their recent projects are English (100%), German (96%), and French (14%).
The most common industries among freelancers who have used Azure Kubernetes Service in their recent projects are Information Technology (92%), Banking and Finance (54%), and Automotive (49%).
