More than ten years working on a large, established Magento system. We evolved the classic Magento 1 code into a better-structured system, using Scrum and peer code reviews, where I also reviewed other developers’ code. My focus was on the backend, and I coordinated with frontend developers when needed. Through ongoing communication with customer service, I improved their workflows: customer service brought me problems, and I built the solutions. I had a largely free hand, with only occasional coordination.

Summary
Magento developer (PHP since 1999, Magento since 2008) with nearly 30 years of experience in web development and e-commerce, including over 25 years as a freelancer. For more than ten years, I worked as a developer on a Scrum team across several Vitafy brands, making a growing Magento system more stable and easier to maintain. My main areas of focus are Magento 2, migrations to Hyvä, and ERP, PIM, and shipping integrations. Even as a “Creative Developer” at Domino Systems (1999), I focused on translating marketing and design concepts into code as faithfully as possible—hence the name Pixel Perfect.
I work in a structured way with AI (Claude Code): it writes the code, I define the rules it must meet, and I have it generate unit tests for Magento code. I use mutation testing to see what those tests actually cover and which code causes them to fail. I check myself what needs to be checked. As a result, I plan more before implementation, and quality has improved significantly. I’m happy to introduce this way of working to existing teams, including external developers and agencies. I’m also developing my own Software Factory to further improve productivity. I prefer long-term work and close collaboration with a business: first I understand how a store makes money, then I decide with the people responsible which technology is the right fit.
