Summary
I develop applications so that they feel at home in containers: as microservices with Docker, operated on OpenShift and Kubernetes, secured with Keycloak and connected via Apache Kafka. I automate builds and releases with Maven, Jenkins and GitLab. I see infrastructure as code, backed by my HashiCorp Terraform Associate certification.
I especially enjoy supporting modernization projects. Most recently, I worked as a project architect on the z/OS decommissioning project. Migrations like these succeed when you take the old world seriously and truly master the new one.
Since 2006, I have been developing software that must work reliably in everyday use: for insurance companies, banks, the rail industry, toll systems, aviation security and the public sector. As a freelance developer and architect, I help teams properly design and implement technically demanding applications and move them into modern operations.
My technical home is the Jakarta EE platform. I build backends with JAX-RS, CDI, JPA, Jakarta Batch and MicroProfile on JBoss EAP and WildFly, and I know the path from Java 6 to Java 21 from my own project experience. Spring Boot is also part of my toolkit.
For me, fullstack also means considering the user interface. Depending on the project, I work with Angular, Vue, React, JSF or occasionally a long-established Swing application. This view of both sides creates interfaces that work for users as well as for the system.
Over two decades, I have been a developer, technical lead, architect and Product Owner. I have led maintenance teams with SLA responsibility, managed service providers and designed architectures from requirements analysis through to prototypes. I am familiar with regulated environments with high requirements for data protection, authorization and legal compliance.
I remain curious: today, I use AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code and Kiro in a targeted way to achieve good results faster, without compromising on quality.
