Summary

My scientific expertise centers on plant biology, ecological microbiology, and microbiome research. As a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Nebraska (UNL), I utilized a novel hydroponic system in conjunction with LC-MS and GC-MS metabolomics to characterize root exudates. I also participated in a project to understand the role of nitrogen fertilization and corn variety in the microbiome composition of soybeans and corn. I have worked with Illumina data to describe both soil and rhizosphere communities. I have experience using R and JMP for data analysis and presentation.

Earlier, during my bachelor's and doctoral research, I focused on the interaction of corn and common bean with Rhizobium phaseoli. I employed a combined approach that integrated microbiology, molecular biology, and genomics, as well as traditional plant-bacteria interaction experiments conducted in growth chambers. I used DNA and RNA sequencing (Illumina) to have a glimpse of the genome and transcriptome of R. phaseoli in interaction with corn and common bean.

Over the past two years I've worked as an independent contractor, training Large Language Models in different platforms, engineering prompts, evaluating response and writing rubrics, in STEM (Biology) and as a generalist.

I thrive in multidisciplinary teams and enjoy sharing the results of my research with individuals from diverse backgrounds and educational experiences. As a critical thinker and problem solver, I'm committed to achieving set goals and being a collaborative team player.
