Remote hierarchy & access concept for user-specific WBS structures (Deloitte, 2025/2026)
Design and implementation of a virtual SAP BW/4HANA hierarchy for user-specific control of WBS elements in complex engagement structures. The objective was to eliminate redundant leaf nodes and ensure that each user sees only their own area of responsibility – both in the F4 value help and within analytical queries.
For this purpose, I developed a fully dynamic hierarchy generator based on an ADSO that determines the relevant subtrees at runtime and makes them available to the system without physical hierarchy loading. The solution eliminated duplicate structure paths, drastically reduced the data volume per user, and enabled secure, high-performance navigation without visibility of other users’ project data.
I also analyzed system-side limitations of the SAP standard F4 hierarchy resolution and, based on this, developed an alternative input and proposal concept for users with global views (“ALL”), fulfilling both security and performance requirements.
Technological focus: BW/4HANA, virtual/remote hierarchies, ADSO design, ABAP-based runtime generation, complex F4 logic, access concepts, performance optimization of large hierarchy structures.

As part of the project, an application was to be developed to analyze the use of various media such as PCs, tablets, and mobile phones by MAN service employees when processing workshop orders. The objective of the project was to enable comprehensive analysis of media usage.
One focus was close collaboration with the business department to define the key figures.
The main tasks included designing and implementing an extractor that provided document, job, and employee data in a form suitable for displaying the key figures.
In addition, the BW data model was modeled and implemented according to MAN’s architecture specifications. The defined key figures were then implemented in an SAP BW Query as restricted and calculated key figures.
Downtime Reporting
Enhancement of an existing BW application for analyzing and evaluating vehicle repair downtime.
The core task involved planning and enhancing the extractor and BW data model by introducing a workshop stay ID (WSA-ID) as a higher-level key. This ID was to be assigned only once, regardless of the number of orders created for a vehicle visit, in order to avoid redundant downtime and improve the quality of the reports.
A particular challenge was implementing the complex logic in the transformation routines, which was developed using ABAP.
RED-PAC - Purchasing Reporting
As part of the project, I was responsible for data provisioning according to MAN’s architecture specifications (based on LSA++).
The first part of my tasks consisted of analyzing, designing, and implementing a larger number of Datasources. This included identifying the relevant source system tables and developing the extractors using ABAP and CDS views.
The second part involved implementing data storage in SAP BW. This was realized in several layers according to the architecture specifications, with the objective of providing a data propagation layer in which the data was made available in consolidated and enriched form.

The project objective was to replace the existing purchasing data model with an optimized and easy-to-maintain model in order to enable a smooth migration to BW/4HANA and ensure ongoing operations.
A central aspect of the project involved analyzing complex transformation routines and ABAP programs and appropriately mapping them in the new data model. Based on an existing high-level technical concept, a detailed implementation concept was developed. The modeling and implementation were carried out in line with the LSA++ approach and across several functional layers.
Another requirement was connecting Ariba Procurement as a new data source. For this purpose, a generic, asynchronous ABAP REST API was developed, initially implemented as an example for the Ariba document type “Sourcing Project”.

Design and implementation of an SAP BW application for assessing the operational readiness situation (EBL) of the Bundeswehr
As part of this project, a prototype was developed in SAP BW to evaluate and display the operational readiness of the Bundeswehr based on resource groups. It supports a rolling analysis over 8 quarters. While the frontend was developed in parallel with SAP UI5, the focus was on backend development in SAP BW.
During modeling, the relevant entities were identified and defined, with the processing and management of master and transaction data being of central importance. It was also necessary to map data with different levels of granularity in the account model.
The technical implementation included developing complex transformation logic for data processing and aggregation. ABAP OO-based transformation routines were used to efficiently implement specific requirements and complex processing logic.
