Description
A company is looking for an experienced freelance consultant to support its hardware development team in evaluating and introducing artificial intelligence (AI) into its development processes. The goal of the project is to create a comprehensive overview of relevant AI tools on the market, particularly in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and PCB design, and to identify concrete ways to introduce them into current projects—especially in the area of complex test boards.
Market Analysis & Tool Scouting: Create a comprehensive, up-to-date overview of AI tools on the market that optimize the hardware development process (schematic design, layout, routing, verification).
Use Case Adaptation: Work with our subject matter experts to assess which of these AI solutions offer the greatest value for developing our test boards (Advantest ATE systems).
Implementation Plan: Develop a roadmap for integrating selected AI technologies into our existing project and development workflows in a practical, secure, and efficient way.
Strategic Consulting: Identify best practices, potential risks (e.g. data security, IP protection when using cloud AI), and the steps needed for a successful proof of concept (PoC).
Requirements
In-depth knowledge of the current market for AI solutions in engineering and EDA, e.g. AI-assisted PCB routing, generative design, and AI copilots.
Solid understanding of traditional hardware development processes, including circuit design and PCB layout.
Experience in technology consulting, process optimization, and developing integration roadmaps.
Fluent in German and English.
Nice to have: Experience developing test boards (Probe Cards / Load Boards) and/or working with Advantest systems.
