Development of an AI-supported system for lead generation

As part of an in-house development project, a pipeline for automated lead generation was created as the second stage of a preceding system for project monitoring. Based on a list of freelance project URLs (freelancermap), qualified lead records are generated, including company, contact person, official and personal email address, and the appropriate form of address (informal/formal). The technologies used were Python (openpyxl, requests) as well as an LLM agent workflow in VS Code (GitHub Copilot Chat) with a custom slash command and extensive rule set; search APIs (Serper.dev) are connected for research. My tasks included the full concept and development. The core is a rule set of around 480 lines that guides the LLM agent deterministically through extraction, website and email lookup, duplicate matching (against existing provider lists), and the creation of a structured JSON output. Deterministic steps (Excel matching, web/email search, pattern derivation) were moved into Python helper scripts. Other requirements included validating the results through versioned blind runs against a reference, iterative refinement of the rule set, and a swappable search provider layer for cost and stability reasons.

About the technology

What Cypress does

Cypress is a browser-based testing framework for modern web applications. It runs end-to-end, component, integration and API tests with direct access to the browser, making failures easier to inspect. Teams use it to validate critical user journeys in single-page applications, portals and checkout flows.

Core capabilities

Cypress supports JavaScript and TypeScript projects and provides an interactive runner, automatic waiting, time-travel debugging and network control. Its command model helps specialists write readable tests without manually coordinating browser timing. Cypress Cloud can add test recording, parallel execution, result analysis and failure review for larger suites.

  • End-to-end tests for critical journeys
  • Component tests for UI behavior
  • API checks and request stubbing
  • Screenshots, videos and failure diagnostics

Ecosystem and delivery

Strong Cypress work connects browser tests with the wider delivery stack. Professionals commonly work with React, Angular or Vue, Node.js, npm, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI and other CI systems. They also set up fixtures, custom commands, environment configuration, test data and stable selectors that fit the application architecture.

When companies need specialists

Freelance expertise helps when a product has unreliable browser tests, a new frontend needs coverage or an existing suite has become slow and difficult to maintain. It is also useful during migrations from Selenium or other tools, before a major release, or when quality checks must run consistently across local and continuous integration environments.

  • Establish a test strategy and coverage priorities
  • Replace brittle selectors and flaky waits
  • Integrate Cypress into CI pipelines
  • Review and refactor an existing test suite

Cypress in Munich teams

Companies in Munich use Cypress wherever customer-facing web software must remain dependable, including mobility, finance, manufacturing, commerce and software products. A local specialist can join on-site workshops when needed, while remote collaboration works well through shared repositories, issue tracking and recorded test results. German or English communication can be agreed around the team.

What strong professionals bring

The best Cypress specialists understand testing principles, browser behavior and the product risks behind each scenario. They choose meaningful coverage instead of simply adding tests, isolate test data, diagnose flakiness and keep feedback fast. Look for clear test structure, maintainable selectors, practical CI experience and evidence that releases became safer without creating a second maintenance burden.

Frequently asked questions

The facts hiring teams ask for most often when it comes to Cypress.

Cypress is used to test web applications in a real browser, especially user journeys such as login, search, payments and form submission. It also supports component testing, API checks, request stubbing and visual evidence through screenshots or videos.

Cypress offers an interactive runner, automatic waiting and direct browser access that make debugging approachable. Selenium supports a broad range of browsers and environments, while Playwright is often chosen for multi-browser coverage, multiple browser contexts and broader automation control. The right choice depends on the application, browser matrix and existing test stack.

A strong Cypress professional usually works confidently with JavaScript or TypeScript, browser fundamentals, HTTP and API testing. Experience with React, Angular or Vue, Git, npm, test data design and CI systems such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI is also valuable.

A small suite can be set up by a professional who understands the application and modern web testing fundamentals. Larger migrations or flaky suites need a specialist who can design test architecture, control data, improve selectors and integrate reliable execution into CI. The difficulty of the product matters more than a fixed time threshold.

Yes. Cypress work is well suited to remote collaboration through Git, pull requests, CI reports and shared test evidence. Munich teams may still prefer on-site workshops for discovery or release planning, while day-to-day implementation can remain remote in German or English.

Cypress tests web applications at mobile viewport sizes, which is useful for responsive behavior and mobile browser flows. It is not a native iOS or Android testing tool, so native app coverage generally requires solutions such as Appium, XCUITest or Espresso alongside the web test suite.

Ask the specialist to explain coverage decisions, test data handling, selector strategy and how failures are diagnosed. High-quality Cypress suites focus on meaningful risks, avoid arbitrary waits, run consistently in CI and remain understandable when the product changes.

Cypress Cloud records test runs and can help teams review failures, organize results and distribute execution across CI machines. It becomes more useful as a suite grows or several teams need shared visibility, but a specialist should first establish stable tests and a clear reporting workflow.

The average hourly rate of freelancers in Munich, Germany who have used Cypress in their recent projects is 94 €, which corresponds to a daily rate of about 756 € based on an 8-hour working day.

Of the freelancers in Munich, Germany who have used Cypress in their recent projects, 100% hold at least a Bachelor's degree, 54% hold at least a Master's degree, and 15% hold a doctorate.
