Development of an AI-supported system for lead generation

As part of an in-house development project, a pipeline for automated lead generation was created as the second stage of a preceding system for project monitoring. Based on a list of freelance project URLs (freelancermap), qualified lead records are generated, including company, contact person, official and personal email address, and the appropriate form of address (informal/formal). The technologies used were Python (openpyxl, requests) as well as an LLM agent workflow in VS Code (GitHub Copilot Chat) with a custom slash command and extensive rule set; search APIs (Serper.dev) are connected for research. My tasks included the full concept and development. The core is a rule set of around 480 lines that guides the LLM agent deterministically through extraction, website and email lookup, duplicate matching (against existing provider lists), and the creation of a structured JSON output. Deterministic steps (Excel matching, web/email search, pattern derivation) were moved into Python helper scripts. Other requirements included validating the results through versioned blind runs against a reference, iterative refinement of the rule set, and a swappable search provider layer for cost and stability reasons.

About the technology

Web apps

ASP.NET is Microsoft’s framework for building web applications and services on .NET. Teams use it for customer portals, internal tools, and public-facing sites that need clear structure, security, and maintainable code.

Common stack

  • ASP.NET Core for modern cross-platform projects
  • Web API for service layers and integrations
  • MVC and Razor Pages for server-rendered applications
  • Blazor for interactive user interfaces
  • Identity, middleware, and authentication flows

Where it fits

It is common in business software, B2B portals, intranets, and systems that connect to ERP, CRM, or payment services. In Munich, it also appears in enterprise environments that need long-lived .NET systems and careful release work.

When to bring in experts

Companies look for freelance ASP.NET specialists when a platform needs new features, a migration from older .NET Framework code, or help untangling performance and security issues. They are also useful when a team needs short-term support for architecture decisions, code review, or delivery peaks.

What strong specialists do

Strong professionals understand request pipelines, dependency injection, data access, authentication, logging, and testing. They write clean C# code, work well with SQL and REST APIs, and keep an eye on deployment, observability, and maintainability.

Working style

ASP.NET work often starts with service contracts, UI flows, and integration points, then moves into implementation and hardening. Remote collaboration works well for most tasks, while on-site time in Munich can help when aligning with product, operations, or legacy system owners.

Frequently asked questions

The facts hiring teams ask for most often when it comes to ASP.NET.

ASP.NET is used to build web applications, APIs, and internal business systems on the .NET stack. It is a common choice for portals, admin tools, and services that need authentication, data access, and clear separation between layers.

ASP.NET usually refers to the broader Microsoft web stack, while ASP.NET Core is the modern, cross-platform version most teams choose for new work. If you are starting fresh, a specialist will often recommend ASP.NET Core unless you must keep an older .NET Framework codebase.

ASP.NET is often chosen when a company already runs on Microsoft technologies, needs strong tooling in Visual Studio, or wants a tightly integrated .NET ecosystem. Compared with Java or Node.js, the choice often comes down to existing systems, team skills, and deployment standards rather than feature gaps.

A strong ASP.NET specialist usually also works with C#, SQL Server or other relational databases, REST APIs, authentication, and testing. For modern front ends, knowledge of Razor, Blazor, JavaScript, and CSS helps a lot.

A simple content site needs less depth than a platform with identity, background jobs, and multiple integrations. For older enterprise systems, you want someone who has handled migration paths, dependency cleanup, and production troubleshooting, not just feature work.

Yes, most ASP.NET work can be done remotely if access to repositories, environments, and product owners is clear. In Munich, on-site sessions are mainly useful for workshops, discovery with stakeholders, or dealing with legacy systems that are hard to document.

Look for clear code structure, practical use of dependency injection, solid API design, and strong testing habits. A good ASP.NET professional can explain trade-offs, show how they handle security and logging, and describe production issues they have fixed, not just features they have built.

Yes, ASP.NET remains a strong choice for enterprise software, especially with ASP.NET Core. It suits teams that want a mature .NET ecosystem, good security options, and a stable path for APIs, portals, and internal applications.
